Our pewter countertop line is made of a soft, reactive metal that will acquire a distinctive patina and unique pattern of use over time. Pewter's softness allows for minor 'imperfections' like pin holes and soldering marks to be present, which add to its charm and artisanal look.
Pewter has a 'living finish' which will evolve throughout the lifetime of the product and will acquire a signature dark gray patina. This finish is not meant to be monolithic and will have light and dark areas that will blend over time to form a unique pattern of use.
Brooks Custom does not coat its metal products in any sealers or coatings; we prefer to allow the raw metal to be exposed to the elements to age naturally.
