Copper Countertops
- Use of a trivet for very hot pots is recommended.
- If you wish to minimize scratch marks and preserve your knife blades, use a cutting board for chopping.
- Minor scratches and mineral streaking can be brushed with a household Scotch brite pad.
- We recommend "Stainless Steel Magic" cleaner and polish.
- Use Butcher wax for food preparation surfaces or auto wax (i.e., “Rain Dance”) to help protect the surface and to slow the natural darkening process.
- To help prevent spotting and glass rings, wipe up liquids promptly.
- There is no coating or lacquering of metal products, they are raw metals. Care for these products varies based
on the polish style:
- Matte Finish: Minor scratches and mineral streaking can be brushed out with a household 3M Green Scotch-Brite pad and May be sanded through the grades up to 220 and buffed.
- Mirror-Polished Finish: zinc, pewter, copper or bronze may be serviced with automotive compound and a machine-polishing pad. General cleaning may be done using any metal polish.
- Finishes with Patina: Windex is a great cleaner for patinated metal tops. Sanding or buffing will remove scratches but will also remove the patina. The Patina will return over time.
