Bronze Countertops
Bronze FAQ
Where Can Bronze be Used?
Bronze is a great option for kitchen countertops, back-splashes and range hoods.
What are the Finish Options?
Bronze is available in a mirror-polish finish or a matte finish. We can also add a patina to your countertop, cutting out the time it will take to create an antiqued look.
How Thick can a Bronze Countertop be?
We use 14-gauge sheet (approximately 1/16" thick). The sheets are bonded to solid, waterproof MDF and can be built-up to your desired thickness. Edges can be built-up to any thickness, 1-½” is standard.
How do I Clean a Bronze Countertop?
We recommend “Stainless Steel Magic” for day-to-day cleaning.
How will the Patina Change Over Time?
Your Bronze countertop is not protected or coated with lacquer, it is a “living finish” and will be effected by certain elements that will either remove or add to your patina. Acidic items such as lemon juice and metal polish may remove patina while oil-based items will add to it. Bronze is a reactive metal so the patina will change and develop over time.
Will a Bronze Countertop Stain or Rust?
No, a Bronze Countertop will not rust or stain. Bronze is a reactive metal so you can expect the patina to change and develop over time.
Can I Cut on a Bronze Countertop?
If you wish to minimize scratch marks and preserve your knife blades, use a cutting board for chopping.
Can I Put Hot Pots on a Bronze Countertop?
Always use a hot plate or trivet when transferring items from an oven to a countertop.
Can a Sink be Built into the Countertop?
We can fabricate a custom integral sink (rectangular or square) and weld it in as a seamless part of any top. We can also under-mount or cut-in any sink that you provide. Holes for faucets and accessories such as hot water inserts and soap dispensers are available.
What Type of Warranty do You Offer?
Our Bronze countertops come with a full one-year warranty. Brooks Custom will repair or replace, at our option, any faulty product deemed to have been caused by manufacturing defects. Items must be returned to this location if not installed by us. Incidental work or adjacent materials are not included in warranty coverage.
How Long Will it Take to get my Bronze Countertop?
Typically it takes 4-6 weeks to fabricate your Bronze countertop, from the time we receive approved shop-drawings from you.
How can I get pricing?
