The chromium content of the steel allows the formation of a rough, adherent, invisible, corrosion-resisting chromium oxide film on the steel surface. if damaged mechanically or chemically, this film is self-healing,

Stainless Steel Fact Sheet 

               Countertops                                                         

• Our Stainless Steel Countertops are made with 14 and 16 gauge(1/16" thick) grade #304 Government spec stainless steel.

• The color of our stainless steel will match most appliances and hoods you may already have.

• All joints are welded ,ground , blended ,and polished.

• Edges are available in any thickness but 1 1/2" is a standard.

• Square, bullnosed, angled back, and marine (no drip), are very popular.

• Sub structures are: bonded solid waterproof MDF, or steel hi hat angle reinforced with sound deadening coating. They are equal in height to the front edge thickness and sit right on cabinets without any blocking or shims.

• Joints are welded and polished and are invisible. Layouts of any length or configuration may be produced.

• For very large tops a mechanical, interlock, silicone sealed field joint is provided. No welding is, or needs to be, done on site.

• Faucet holes are provided according to your specs.

• Drain Pans are tapered 1/4" so that water will flow into the sink.

• You may provide a manufactured or imported sink to us for welding into the top.                          

• We require that it be 16 gauge to insure a good integral look.

• We can Fabricate a Custom  Sink of any dimension or shape, and weld it in as a seamless part of any top.

• Finishes include: #4 Omni-directional Brushed (our standard), Hi Polish reflective, Custom Grinding patterns to match your spec or sample.

• Integral Coved splashes may be any height and have a return to the wall of any thickness.

• Splashes may be separate units. They are bonded to  a backer of any thickness ( usually 1/4" ). They are returned back at the ends for a professional butt joint or finished end.

• Splashes may be quilted to any size grid or diamond pattern, or even a custom sunrise or fan pattern.

• You can drill, file and cut Stainless steel on site using metal cutting bits and blades, at slow speed with good support for the material.

• Finishes include: Factory Brushed (our standard), #4 Omni-directional Brushed , Hi Polish reflective, Custom Grinding patterns to your spec or sample.

Cabinet Doors

• We produce Cabinet and Full size architectural Doors in Stainless Steel.                                                    

• Doors with glass and mullions are common items.

• Cabinet doors have welded and polished and brushed steel fronts with a melamine, clear finished maple, or steel insert in back.

• They are 3/4" to 1" thick.

• Finishes include: Factory Brushed (our standard), #4 Omni-directional Brushed , Hi Polish reflective, Custom Grinding patterns to spec.

• Templating and Installation throughout N.Y. N.J. Ct.  by our own in house professionals.

• You may provide a full size paper, plywood, foam core, or hardboard template to us by mail or UPS.

• You may provide plans, specs or drawings (use a ruler please) by fax.

• We will provide you with shop drawings for your approval to make sure that all details are correct.

  Maintenance

• Minor scratches and mineral streaking can be brushed with a household Scotch brite pad.

• We recommend "Stainless Steel Magic" cleaner and polish.

• Deep scratches may be sanded through the grades up to 220 and buffed with the same pad.

• Use a circular pattern for a #4 finish or a straight line motion for a machine brush.

• High polish Stainless may be serviced with automotive compound and a machine polishing pad.
