Making "Classic" Countertops

Making "Green" products

1. We heat our facility using Wood waste.
2. We manufacture using only Rainwater.
3. Saw dust is collected to be used as organic mulch.

Wood Counter tops:

1. Our wood is purchased from Government Licensed suppliers exclusively.
2. Imported woods such as Honduran Mahogany (Often actually Brazilian and marketed as Honduran) are not used. We use African Mahogany. It is beautiful, abundant, and harvested with US approval.
3. No threatened species are available through Brooks Custom.
4. "Repurposed" or "fast growth" woods such as Antique Heart Pine or Lyptus are available for making our countertops.
5. Our Finish is Oil based ( Tung Oil ) and has few thinning agents. Thus it is of the lowest VOC rating during application. It is non toxic, food prep safe, and a very resilient great finish. It can be renewed in the home using our finish restoring oil.
6. We do not use lacquer, polyester, or conversion varnish for our finish. They pollute the air when applied. They cannot be restored at home.

 Glass countertops:

1. 30% of commercial glass is now made from recycled material. This saves the energy and carbon emissions that would be used to create new Glass.

 Concrete Countertops:

1. Concrete is made almost completely from natural materials.  30% Gravel, 40%Sand, 10%Rain Water, and 20%Portland Cement (mostly baked Lime). Concrete is a low energy material. It is recyclable.
2. The finish that we use to seal the surface has zero VOC atmosphere polluting components at all. It is food prep safe and extremely durable.

  Metal countertops:

1. All metals can be recycled completely. They can go on forever.
2. The core materials may be reused once separated.
